Description of Services
The Acton Institute is a think tank whose mission is to promote a free and virtuous society characterized by individual liberty and sustained by religious principles. The institute organizes conferences and seminars for religious leaders of all denominations, nonprofit leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, and academic researchers. Major themes of Acton's programs include connecting good intentions to sound economics, the connection that can exist between virtue and economic thinking, and the importance of putting the human person—who is made for flourishing and endowed with dignity and creative capacity—at the center of thinking about society and the economy.
The Acton Institute regularly organizes seminars related to poverty and social flourishing. Additionally, several major media projects of the institute include the documentary "Poverty, Inc." (winner of over 60 international film festival honors) and the "PovertyCure" series, which seeks to ground the fight against global poverty in a proper understanding of the human person and society and unleash the entrepreneurial spirit in poverty-stricken parts of the world.
